She was a finalist for the 1996 Bakeless Prize in Nonfiction and a Scholar at the 1997 Bread Loaf Writers Conference. Her books include Kwa Heri Means Goodbye; Memories of Kenya 1957-1959; Discovering Marblehead,Open Spaces and Historic Places; and A Door Just Opened, a Young Adult novel. Her novel, “Willow Run,” will be released by Melange Books in Fall 2019. She lives with her neurotic cat Chitty in Massachusetts, where she likes to walk the beach while plotting her next book.
